Spriss is an integrated system designed for a wide range of applications and very customizable in dependence to the changing conditions and requirements of the production processes. The insufficient flexibility has been in fact recognized to be the main limit of the measurement systems currently present on the market. The philosophy that subtends the RACK realization instead privileges the modularity and the interchangeability of its components that can i.e. be extracted from the customer for reasons of ordinary maintenance (change lamp for the illuminants) or being replaced by other components adapting the system to the varying requirements: upgrades or conversions consist in the simple substitution of a 3U rack or of a probe.

  • Spectrophotometer
    Acquires the radiation from the probe through an optic fiber with a standard SMA conncetor in front of the rack. The inner electronics renders the data for elaborations through the parallel standard connetor (optional serial/USB). It can cover various bandwidths from the near ultraviolet (310nm) to near infrared (1100nm) and it is available in different spectral resolution (3, 5, 10nm).
  • Illuminant
    To measure in reflectance/transmittance it is indispensable to supply a luminous source with opportune radiaton in order to cover the band of interest. DV probes can operate with whichever type of external lighting system but the use of DV illuminators not only introduces remarkable advantages in terms of compatibility but also of system automation. All DV illuminators introduce manual shutter controls in the front panel (for dark reference during calibration) but also an automatic shutter controlled by PC particularly suitable for in-line measurements. The halogen lamp lighting systems covers the greater part of applications; DV supplies Xeno and Deuterium lighting systems for particular requirements.
  • PC
    In order to render the system totally independent it is possible to mount a dedicated PC to acquire and elaborate the data, and to remote control the system.
  • I/O and control boards
    DV supplies standard I/O cards and designs custom cards for equipment integration on the system.

Software: Microcolor

Overview

Microcolor is the software for color measurements developed by DV.
Absolute spectral intensities can be acquired from the sample, in dependence to the application type and to the spectrometric system in use.Once the white and black spectra are acquired, to obtain the spectral reference of the illuminant and to subtract the electronic noise respectively, the reflectance (transmittance) or absorbance of the sample can be calculated, as well as the CIE L*a*b* and xyz color coordinates.
For advanced colorimetric applications is possible to acquire a standard gray reference also.
Multiple and continuous acquisition are possible. The acquisition time and the number of readouts can be adjusted in order to match with the optimal number of counts.
The data can be easily processed through any database program, thus offering an efficient tool for classification.
